Mary Theresa Eleanor Higgins Clark Conheeney (née Higgins), lahir 24 Desember 1927. Ia lebih populer dengan nama Mary Higgins Clark, seorang penulis Amerika novel thriller, fiksi misteri dan kriminologi.
Masing-masing dari 42 bukunya telah menjadi buku terlaris di Amerika Serikat dan berbagai negara Eropa. Ia layak jika mendapat julukan The Queen of Suspense, karena plot novel-novelnya memang selalu penuh suspense. Plot ini menempatkan tokoh-tokoh utamanya biasanya wanita-wanita biasa, wanita-wanita yang menyenangkan berada dalam situasi yang luar biasa mengerikan. Yang unik dalam judul novelnya adalah judul lagu-lagu lama.
Beberapa tahun silam, ketika Clark baru menyelesaikan 7 novel dan ada yang menjulukinya Agatha Christie era 80-an, Clark menanggapi; "Christie telah menulis 100 buku, jadi aku masih utang 93 lagi."
Wanita yang pernah bekerja sebagai sekretaris dan pramugari ini mulai menulis pada usia 36 tahun, ketika suaminya meninggal dan ia terpaksa harus menghidupkan sendiri kelima anak mereka yang masih kecil-kecil. Clark yang keturunan Irlandia lahir dan dibesarkan di New York City. Kini ia bermukim di Saddle River New Jersey.
